Tolbert Road is Open
HHPR employees, County and City staff, neighbors, and local dignitaries celebrated the opening of the newest addition to the Sunrise Corridor family of road improvements, the Tolbert Bridge project. The celebration was complete with a World War I Liberty Truck and the Clackamas High School Drumline. This $20 million project extended and improved Tolbert Street by adding a traffic signal to the intersection of Tolbert Street and 82nd Drive, a new bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad mainline tracks, a new intersection at Minuteman Way and the Camp Withycombe main gate, bike lanes, and sidewalks. The new bridge replaces the former crossing at Lawnfield Road, making travel safer for vehicles and pedestrians.
This project also included the reconstruction of 93rd Avenue and 94th Avenue, with a new road base, asphalt, curbs, storm water drainage, and sidewalks. HHPR provided project management, engineering, public involvement, landscape architecture, surveying, and full construction management services. The project was completed ahead of schedule and under budget. See Clackamas County’s summary of the bridge opening here.
