What we are seeking

Our Construction Services department is seeking a Senior ODOT-Certified Construction Inspector interested in provided seasonal, part-time and or full time inspection services.

Job Requirements

Candidate must have a minimum 5 years of experience providing ODOT-Certified inspection services.  A minimum 10-years engineering or construction-related experience is preferred.  Must be ODOT-Certified in General Construction Inspection (additional ODOT inspector certifications a bonus).  Candidate must be able to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and construction documents, have good written and verbal communication skills (in English), fundamental knowledge of engineering practices, and good decision making and problem-solving skills. This position may require the applicant to work nights and/or weekends to meet project requirements. Some travel may be required.

Job Description

  • Inspecting the construction of streets, utilities, structures and other improvements.
  • Maintain detailed construction records and document daily activities, installation quantities, and writing related reports.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with contractors and construction personnel, agency representatives, and other inspection/construction management team members.
  • May be responsible for leading a team of inspectors and/or directing /training other inspectors.
  • Knowledgeable with general office software such as Microsoft products
  • Valid driver license
